Development policy

Plan is an international development work organisation working for removing poverty and fulfilling children’s rights. Plan’s development work is based around eight areas:

Education

Plan works with children and adults so that they can get the knowledge and life skills they need to realise their full potential and live a life of dignity.

Health

Plan’s immunisation and other health programmes help save the lives of thousands of children every year.

Water and sanitation

Plan strives for everyone’s access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation.

Protection

Plan works to stop violence against children, so that every child could grow and develop in a safe environment.

Economic security

Plan works with communities to achieve financial stability, so that they can secure children’s wellbeing and plan their future.

Emergencies

So that children’s rights are not forgotten in any situation, Plan helps the victims of disasters and tries to reduce disaster risks.

Child Participation

Plan informs and instructs people about children’s rights and helps children and young people to live up to their full potential and participate in the development of their communities.

Reproductive Health

Plan educates and instructs people, so that children and young people can protect themselves and their sexuality.
